Can You Make It Any Bigger?
The size of the window on the webpage (320x240) will deliver the best quality picture. By pressing the full-screen button in the bottom right hand corner of the player, the picture is stretched to the resolution of your monitor and will deteriorate substantially the larger the resolution of your monitor is. You may increase the size of the window on the webpage in most web browsers by pressing and holding the control button while pressing the plus sign key, or alternatively, pressing the minus key to decrease the size. You may change the reduce the resolution of your desktop to reduce the blurriness when viewing the video at full screen by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting Screen Resolution (change it to 800x600 instead of something higher such as 1920x1080).
I have a dial-up connection, will this work?
Unfortunately, it will not. There is not enough bandwidth to accommodate the amount of information required to send video and audio data over a dial-up connection. As a result, you may only get partial audio or a frame or two of video here and there resulting in an aggravating slide show effect.
Can I watch this on my iPhone or iPad?
Yes! (We hope!) We are streaming this in an iOS friendly format, so it should work on your iPhone 3G, 3GS or 4, iPod or iPad. It's possible that you may need to update to a newer firmware if you see a "this requires Flash..." message. If the stream stops on your iOS device, please click on the Done button in the top left of the screen and reload the web page so you may launch the player and re-connect.
Why does it keep stopping or the audio keeps cutting in and out?
If the stream continuously pauses or stops, your internet connection may not be fast enough to sustain a connection to playback the video on a smooth, consistent basis. As a result, it may drop audio or altogether come to a stop. The video streams are being delivered at 348Kbps (or .348Mbps). For best viewing, your download speed should be 1Mbps or faster. To test your download speed, please visit
www.speedtest.net. Even on the best connections, an occasional hiccup or two is normal during long events which span several hours over multiple days. If your stream stops, simply press the pause/play button to reconnect, or reload the page and press the play button. If you have a great download speed, but still experience frequent disconnects, there are a couple of reasons this may happen. 1) If you are watching wirelessly, please try connecting directly to your modem or router with an ethernet cable. This will eliminate any interference or obstacles that may be introduced via a wireless connection. 2) Your provider could be experiencing packet loss or latency causing the stream to lose its place and disconnect. To test this on a Windows machine, go to Start, type cmd in the Search box and press the Enter key. This should open a black window known as a command prompt. Type in 'ping google.com -t' (without the quotes) and press enter. This will continually send packets to google.com (you can use any website) measured in milliseconds. If any of the responses time out or are erratic, jumping from low to high (for example. say 34ms to 246ms), or are continuously above 100ms, this could lead to a poor streaming experience.
It worked earlier, why not now?
If your internet provider is through a satellite, wireless or mobile broadband vendor, please check their terms of service. Many impose usage restrictions within a 24-hour or monthly billing period. Watching video over the internet, especially for long periods of time, will quickly use up the limited amount of bandwidth allotted to you by your internet service provider. Once you reach the limit (which varies by vendor), they will significantly reduce the download speed, making it difficult (if not impossible) to watch. Please contact your internet service provider for information on lifting these limitations (which may require upgrading to a more expensive plan).
If you have a satellite, wireless or mobile broadband provider, and you have a specific rider you want to watch, please take this into consideration and plan your viewing accordingly.
Stream not found?!
If you get an error in the video player saying that the stream cannot be found, please press stop and play again to reconnect. If you continue to get the error, clear the browser's cache, cookies and temporary files from the top menu under Tools > Internet Options. You can also use another web browser to view the stream and/or reboot your machine. This usually occurs if you've previously watched the stream. The browser stores the location of the stream on our content distribution network, which periodically changes according to demand. Clearing the cache will allow the browser to find the new location on the network.
Can I record, save, watch or replay this later?
While it may be possible technically, it is not supported. Also, the video feeds are protected by copyright law. Any unauthorized reproduction or distribution is prohibited.
